		<description>Great post. You mentioned it briefly, but I think that it is your most important point - pause. All too often as we speak we are working very hard to remember the next thing that we want to say and so we end up speaking in a non-stop stream of words.

A pause is a very powerful thing. If you take a moment to be quiet after you&#039;ve made a point, that will give everything a chance to sink into your audience&#039;s heads and they will retain more.

		<description>I always believe in video-recording your first and final rehearsals to see if there&#039;s something you need to change or adjust. watching your own video put you in the listeners&#039; point of view, by doing this, you&#039;ll be able to see if you&#039;re an effective speaker for your listeners. this proves to be very helpful in public speaking. great post by the way. thanks. :)</description>
