This is a great post!  Elinor Dohahue, the girl who played Betty Anderson, on the (very) old series, Father Knows Best, wrote a book about her experiences. She said that they even had to practice every detail, even including pantomining buttering toast(!) before doing it in front of a live audience. She said sometimes she practiced so much that she&#039;d forget to pick up the real thing! What a delight though to care so much about the audience that the cast would practice and practice and practice. Good advice for us all. Thanks, Terry, for your insights.
